A difficult update about EU shipping
This is a difficult decision for me to make:
For the time being, I will pause shipping physical products to other EU member states.
From 12 August 2026, the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation will largely apply. Under the current rules, shipping to customers in other EU countries would mean that, in addition to the existing packaging registrations and licensing requirements, I would need to appoint an authorised representative for extended producer responsibility in each destination country.
For a small one-woman business, this is simply not financially sustainable. Even in countries where I receive only a handful of orders, it would create separate costs and additional administrative work that are out of proportion to the sales LINES+PAPER makes there.
I have therefore made the difficult decision to pause shipping physical products to other EU member states until further notice.
This comes at a time when I am already seeing how much the conditions for running LINES+PAPER have changed.
I am now in my eighth month of running the business full-time. At the beginning of the year, I thought I could pick up where I had left off. Instead, I have had to acknowledge how much the market has changed.
Costs have risen, international shipping has become more difficult, and whenever my reach on social media drops, I see it immediately in my sales.
At the same time, I continue to receive messages from customers who have been using their dividers for years. Knowing this makes it especially difficult that, just before the busiest time in the planner year, I will temporarily no longer be able to ship to some of them.
Digital products will remain available worldwide.
Customers in Germany, Switzerland and the United States will still be able to order physical products.
I will continue to follow further developments closely and hope to reopen shipping to other EU countries as soon as there is a legally sound and financially viable solution for small businesses.
Important date
If you live in another EU country and were planning to place an order, you can do so up to and including 9 August.
Thank you for being here and supporting LINES+PAPER, especially through the more difficult chapters.
