Planner setup
My planner setup for 2024
This year, I’m using a custom Van der Spek planner in JS Velvet Undyed.
It has been expanded to Franklin Covey Compact size, which has become one of my favorite planner sizes together with Personal Wide.
I wanted to share how I’m setting it up, which sections I’m using and which parts are still slowly coming together.
Some pages are already in use. Some are still waiting to be created.
That feels honest for this season.
My main intention for this setup is more separation between personal tasks, business tasks and the pieces I want to keep close.
01 | Personal sections
Shopping list
At the front of my planner, I want to keep a simple shopping list.
I’m thinking about using sticky notes here, so I can take the list with me when I leave the house.
Goals
This section is for the bigger things I want to keep close.
My bucket list, brainstorming notes, vision board and quarterly overview will live here.
Projects
This section is for project lists and project planning.
I want to create a flexible layout that works for different kinds of projects without making the setup feel too complicated.
Home & Living
This section is for private lists that are useful, but not urgent.
Home projects, garden ideas, household tasks and my vacation packing list can all live here.
I like having private notes in my planner, as long as they have a clear place and do not take over my work pages.
02 | Business sections
BIZ
This section is for general business notes.
Checklists, important information and task cards will have a place here.
LINES+PAPER
This section is connected to BIZ, but more specific.
It will hold information that belongs directly to LINES+PAPER, like material notes, planner sizes, product ideas and details I need often.
Photography
Photography is still a big part of how I think and create.
This section is for photo ideas, video ideas, concepts, DIY notes, workflow lists and content planning.
Finance
I’m thinking about adding a finance section for my Profit First system, business expenses and a list of contracts.
I’m not fully sure yet how detailed this section needs to be, so I’ll let it grow slowly.
03 | Calendar and planning
Calendar
My calendar section is very simple this year.
It starts with a progress tracker, followed by my monthly overview on two pages and weekly inserts.
I love having the calendar week in view. It helps me see what matters without overloading the page.
Monthly dividers
This section also includes monthly dividers from January to December.
They make the calendar part easier to move through and keep the year more visible.
Page marker
I also use a page marker, and I really love this little piece.
It helps me find the current page quickly and gives me extra space for small notes that do not fit into the week.
Other ideas
Some ideas are still open.
No-spend cards, decluttering sheets and task cards are all things I might add later.
04 | Why this setup works for me
More separation
This year, I want a clearer separation between personal tasks and business tasks.
More focus
I want to stay more focused while working and keep smaller private to-dos from pulling my attention away too quickly.
More room for business
I want this planner to support my business in a way that feels useful, calm and easy to return to.
Room to change
This setup does not have to be finished all at once. It can grow with the way I actually use it.

If you have questions, ideas or requests for future inserts or dividers, you can always send me a message.
